Hello! I’m Kerline.
I am a licensed therapist, speaker, and coach. I am committed to and passionate about helping peoiple maximize their persional and professional potential.
As a coach and CEO of Helper’s Paradox, I work with helping professionals who have done the work of addressing root causes of their concerns and no longer focused on the past, but looking forward and ready to take action for better future. While I bring a mental health background to coaching, as a coach, I operate outside of a clinical capacity.
As early as childhood, I was interested in learning about what made some people thrive and overcome barriers to success and how others could do the same. I found myself most interested in the intersection of physical and mental health as it relates to meeting the needs of the whole person. Much of my work has been in integrated care settings, providing health and mental health services.
Through my studies and experiences, I realized there are a lot of “successful” people in the helping professions, including doctors,
lawyers, social workers, nurses, law enforcement, that are completely burnt out, stressed, and miserable in their personal and professional lives. They help others, but not themselves which impacts their mental and physical health—and in some circumstances become the very people they seek to help.
As an experienced psychotherapist and helping professional who’s worked in healthcare for over 15 years, I have seen and experienced how caring for others while neglecting your own needs can easily occur if you’re not intentional about wellness. That’s when it became my personal mission to disrupt the paradox of helping by empowering individuals to prioritize holistic wellness through mindful self-care practices and fostering a community that values balance, resilience, and sustainable support systems.
